A dog named Bo, a gift for Obama's family

This is currently much talk about dog named Bo, a six-month-old Portuguese water dog , given to the Obama girls as a gift by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. There are mixed respond to the choice of dog for the Obama's family.

Dog shelter said it's a disapointment as Obama should have gotten a dog from the rescue. And it is interesting to read comments posted. Why not pure breed? Some would say. Does it mean that they would care less for the rescue dogs? What do you think?

As it is a gift for the Obama girls, and the girls are happy with the water dog, does it matter it is a pure breed or rescue dog ?

Hearing Dogs

It is amazing how hearing dogs give assistance to these people who have hearing impaired. They alert the deaf owners of sounds like doorbell, telephone ringing, smoke alarms and all other household sounds.

With hearing dogs around the house, life has change for the deaf owners. Alerting them of dangers like smoke from the iron or gas stove and giving day to day assistances like microwave oven dings, doorbells rings.

Toddler killed by dogs

"A three-year-old girl has died and another child has been seriously mauled in a dog attack at a south-western NSW home." quoted from a recent news report.

The attack had devastated the small town and everyone is in a state of shock. It is terrible.

Yeah, dogs are suppose to be friendly and lovable. Such horrible things are not suppose to happen. It did happened.

What will happen to these dogs? It seems that the dogs were seized from the property and authorities were seeking to destroy them.
